Bone Scan:

A Bone Scan, or Contrast Scintography involves injecting a special radioactive dye (deemed safe for human use for decades) into the blood stream and then imaging the body with xrays at specific intervals afterward. It is a very useful test for diagnosing infections and nonhealing bone injuries. Bone scans are performed on an outpatient basis at a local hospital.
