CAT Scan:

The CAT scan, or Computed Axial Tomography is a special type of xray study that allows the Dr to see the bones of the foot (all 28 of them) in much greater detail than plain Xrays. CAT scans allow for 3 dimensional appreciation of the bones, as well as "slices" showing thier interior. In many cases, CT scans can identify problems that are otherwise impossible to see. CT scans have to be performed at a hospital or outpatient diagnostic center, after being ordered by the Doctor.
